Nashik and Mumbai sit at two ends of one of Maharashtra's busiest working corridors. Vineyard owners head down for exports, MIDC engineers from Satpur and Ambad travel for client meetings in BKC, students catch flights out of Sahar, and thousands of families return home to the suburbs after a Trimbakeshwar or Saptashrungi darshan. A train or a Volvo bus can move you between the two cities, but neither picks you up from your building gate at 4 AM with luggage for four people. There is no meter, no per-kilometre surprise at the end, no separate toll receipt pushed at you near Vashind, and no "driver night bata" invented after midnight. Only two things ever get added — the ₹150 airport entry charge if your drop is inside the terminal forecourt, and the Sea Link or Atal Setu toll if your route genuinely needs it. The default route is NH-160 / NH-3: Nashik → Pimpalgaon bypass → Ghoti → Igatpuri → Kasara Ghat → Shahapur → Bhiwandi bypass → Thane → Mumbai. It measures roughly 165 km to Dadar, 175 km to Mumbai Airport T2 and about 190 km to Colaba. The first 80 km up to Igatpuri is fast four-lane running; the 12 km Kasara Ghat descent is where the clock is decided, because a single stalled truck can hold the ghat for twenty minutes.
